What is email to Slack?

Email to Slack — more broadly, email-to-chat — means receiving and replying to email inside a chat platform like Slack, Discord, or Microsoft Teams, instead of a separate inbox.

Most teams already spend their day in a chat app. Email, meanwhile, sits in a separate tab that not everyone watches. Email-to-chat closes that gap: incoming messages appear in a channel, the team discusses them where they already talk, and replies go back out as normal email.

A basic version is one-way — a notification that an email arrived. A complete version is two-way: you reply from the chat thread and the recipient gets a real email from your address, with no bot signatures or forwarding clutter.

How it relates to MailFellow

Email-to-chat is exactly what MailFellow does — and it is fully two-way across six platforms: Slack, Discord, Microsoft Teams, Telegram, WhatsApp, and Mattermost. Email arrives as an interactive message with reply, assign, and resolve buttons.
