Quick Replies
Quick replies let you send pre-written responses with a single slash command. Create templates for common replies, assign a shortcut to each, and use them from Discord or Slack without typing the full message every time.
Creating a quick reply
- Go to Settings > Quick Replies
- Fill in the form:
- Shortcut:a short keyword you will type in the command (e.g.
thanks, refund, eta) - Title:an optional label to help you remember what the reply does
- Body:the email text that will be sent
- Shortcut:a short keyword you will type in the command (e.g.
- Click Add Quick Reply
You can edit an existing quick reply by adding a new one with the same shortcut. The old body and title will be replaced.
Using quick replies
Open an email thread in your Discord or Slack channel and run:
/mailfellow quick <shortcut>For example:
/mailfellow quick thanksMailFellow fetches the saved body, appends your signature, and sends it as an email reply in that thread. You get a confirmation message when it is sent.
What happens behind the scenes
- MailFellow looks up the email thread you are in
- It checks that you are an authorized member for the account
- It fetches the quick reply body by shortcut
- Your signature is appended (if you have one set in your profile)
- If translation is enabled and the thread is in another language, the reply is translated automatically
- The email is sent and you see a confirmation
Tips
- Keep shortcuts short and memorable:
thanks, hours, reset, followup - The body is sent as plain text, so keep formatting simple
- Quick replies work the same way as regular replies. The recipient sees a normal threaded email
- If the shortcut does not exist, you will see an error message with a link to create it
Managing quick replies
All your quick replies are listed on the Quick Replies settings page. From there you can:
- Add new quick replies
- Edit by re-adding with the same shortcut
- Delete replies you no longer need
Quick replies are per email account, so each connected inbox has its own set of templates.
