Replying to Emails

You can reply to any email without leaving your chat platform. Your reply is sent as a real email, threaded under the original conversation.

Reply Methods

Checkmark Reaction

  1. Open the email thread in your channel
  2. Type your reply message
  3. Add a ✅ checkmark reaction to your own message

MailFellow picks up your message, sends it as an email reply, and confirms with "Email sent successfully."

Send Thanks Button

Click the Send Thanks button on any email notification to send a quick thank-you reply without typing anything.

Slash Command (Discord & Slack)

Use /mailfellow send to open a compose modal where you can write a full email reply with To, Subject, Body, schedule time, and language selection.

Quick Replies

Use /mailfellow quick <shortcut> to send a saved reply template. See Quick Replies for details.

Signatures

If a team member has a custom signature configured (via Team Members), it is automatically appended to every reply they send.

Reply Translation

When translation is enabled and the original email is in a non-English language, MailFellow automatically translates your reply to the sender's language before sending it.

Scheduling

When composing via the send command, you can schedule the email for later. See Scheduled Send for available options.

Who Can Reply

Only authorized members can send replies. You set these in Settings > Members. If someone who isn't authorized tries to reply, they will see an error message and no email is sent.

Plan requirement: Team reply (multiple members replying) is available on the Business plan and above.
